I wanna to be low profile but fail
As I don't know why UM News published the victory of mine
Don't know what am I talking?
No worry, I have the link here
I am the first runner-up for this competition
Everyone views it as a good news and feels happy for me
But I myself not really feeling good
As I lose the chance to visit to Denmark
Maybe I am not ready yet to represent Malaysia for the international competition
And have a lot to be improved
I am very happy to realize my weaknesses in the competition =)
As mentioned before in my previous blog
I hate this competition as it clashed with my final
as well as my ACCA progress test
By the way, I managed to undergo it =)
Thanks god for everything
It's really a great experience =)
I enjoyed the whole process
from the beginning until the moment I was informed that I was one of the finalist
(out of the 185 participants)
Thanks a lot for my advisor who did guide me with full commitment
Even though he is always very busy
He taught me the right attitudes and thinking skills
Rather than technical skills
I believe these skills are more important than anything else
And enjoyed the moment being criticized as "aunty" by him for my presentation
Haha !
I don't know how should I express my gratitude towards him
But, still I would say, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Besides, I enjoyed the whole interview process
I was impressed by Ernst & Young (EY) for this session
Could you imagine how I would I feel
When I entered the room and realize that the judge composed of a Malay, a Chinese and an Indian
Wao ! Diversity ! This first impression will last forever I think XD
And they were very friendly, the comments given are motivating and they could really catch up all my main points
They could see my hard work even though I didn't emphasize them through my presentation
I was too touched for this as I thought no one would border this kind of little thing =)
Moreover, this is my first time to do presentation in front of all professionals
Behind the judge, there were a group of EY officers
Thanks for listening to my presentation
Your applause did increase my confidence
And very sorry for my poor English
Haha !
Hmm~ Sad thing happened here as well
My slides couldn't function well
It seemed like wasting my effort of preparing the slides with full animation T__T
Haha ! but it's okay, it passed ^^
Learned from mistake is more important
Thanks UM Staff for taking this photo
I looked tall here XD
And I would like to do some explanations here
I was receiving a plaque, but not the RM6k cash (in this photo)
The caption written in the UM News is incorrect
The winners
Wao ! The champion is too tall @.@
Thanks Zhi Liang for taking this photo
Haha ! It's my fault for no preparing camera
As well as this, and we were the 10 finalists ^^
My prizes
And I like this most!
I was in newspaper too @.@
Please don't find it out XD
I look very ugly here...
And never forget
I would like to thank for my driver,Mr Lim Ming Liang
Who willing to send me to EY office and waited me for 2 hours for the final
My Brother, Lim Chee Ching and his wife, Cindy Heng
For letting me to stay at your place
preparing food for me and listening to my presentation practice
Haha > <
There were many others who really did help and support me
throughout the whole process
Khai Shin, Zoe, Fook, Alvin, Yun and etc
Thanks thanks !
You all know how depressed and coward was I
when I was informed that I was one of the finalist
Haha !
So what I have learned from this competition?
Confidence is essential
Opportunity does not come by chance
English is important
Hard work is needed
Lecturer is critical
Creative, openness and analytical mind are necessary
be simple, straightforward
Friends are those that help when you are in trouble
But not those who...
Did really disappoint me
And !
Never forget what I have promised to do
when you learned, money will be secondary issue
Though I am not rich, but still I perceive that learning is more important
(at my age now)
So don't stop my passion !
Continue working for my better future ^^
Managed to have a photo with EY bunting during the price-giving ceremony
But forget to have photos with my body guards to the prize-giving ceremony
haha ! They were actually my guests to the ceremony - Fook & Zhi Liang
(Building a better working world ^^)
